美 Navteq, 4C 중심의 차세대 LBS 서비스 계획 발표…위치기반 광고모델도 포함

미국의 지리정보 시스템(GIS, geographic information systems) 사업자인 Navteq Connections가 CTIA 2008에서 향후 사업 계획을 발표했다. Navteq은 최근 핀란드의 휴대단말 벤더인 Nokia가 인수한 바 있다.

Navteq focused on expansion, plans for location-based advertising

The company plans to focus its new LBS plans around four Cs: connectivity, content, community and convergence.

Focusing on content, Mize said the plan is to take the map to new places. Navteq hopes to make its maps more enhanced visually, more dynamic by adding flight status information and fuel pricing; and a big goal is to make them more pedestrian.
“[We need] to take it out of the car,” Mize said.
