The Last Guy Mixes Google Earth and Zombies

Upcoming PlayStation 3 downloadable title The Last Guy looks to combine satellite imagery and zombie infestations in a fun and novel way.

In the game, it's your job as a member of the United Rescue Force to save citizens from swarms of zombies, guiding them to safety.

What sets the game apart is the fact that you play entirely from a top-down perspective, using satellite imagery based on Google Earth. The trailer shows a player guiding survivors through what looks like the streets of Tokyo -- I'm pretty sure I spotted the Budokan -- which definitely adds a satisfying touch of realism.

The Last Guy comes out July 31st on the Japanese PlayStation Network, priced at a very reasonable 500 yen (around $5). The game is also expected to come out later in North America.
