Vodafone launches Find & Go free navigation service

vodafone_find_and_go_sat_nav.gifVodafone has announced an upgrade to its satellite navigation service, now offering its customers free access to directions and places of interest.

Partnering with Multimap, the Find & Go service allows users to search for a destination on their home PC and then send the search result to their mobile phone free of charge. They then have access to turn-by-turn spoken driving or walking directions, route alternatives based on traffic conditions, and landmark information.

The service uses mobile network positioning as well as GPS, meaning it's possible to get a fairly accurate position quickly, even when out of range of the GPS signal.

In fact, the turn-by-turn navigation service will still cost £5 per month, with three months subscription included on the Nokia N78, 6120 and N95 8GB and one month with other Find&Go compatible handsets.

Fancy adding satellite navigation to your mobile phone? You can with the newly-launched Vodafone Sat Nav.
It's claimed to be the first operator-branded mobile navigation service aimed at consumers in the UK, offering both in-car and pedestrian navigation with 3D maps, up-to-date maps and directions, live traffic alerts and millions of points-of-interest such as hotels, restaurants, shopping and attractions.
Vodafone Sat Nav is launching initially on three of Vodafone UK’s GPS embedded handsets – Nokia N95, Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia 6110 as well as the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone. The subscription to the service costs £5 per month with the first month free - but data charges do apply. Customers who purchase the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 will get 12 months Sat Nav included.
